Welcome to Skim City's secure on-line shopping experience (sounds exciting already, don't it?).
Take your time and look around. If you see something you like, you can pay for it (in a totally safe and secure environment, of course) with a Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, or American Express right on-line (wow!). Or, if you wanna pay by check or money order, you can do that on-line too. Or you can give us a call on the toll-free (888-480-1881) anytime day or night and we'll do it all over the phone. That's a buncha choices, ain't it?)
Now a couple of things: First, buy a board from Skim City and we'll give you stickers and a bar of wax - FREE!(gadzooks!, eh?). It's our way of saying thanks.
Next, we are pleased to be able to eliminate all box/packaging fees! That's right, no more pesky charges for that incredibly famous (and super secure) Skim City packing job. Next, we're taking it one step further: do any order over $75 and Free Shipping can be yours. Yup - every order over $75 that's to be delivered in the continental USA is eligible for Free Shipping. If you live overseas, well, we can't do free shipping for you, but we will try to find the cheapest method possible (usually USPS). And remember, up to three boards can usually ship in one box, so get together with your buds when you place an order and save some bucks.
Next, when you do a board order, put in your email address in the place that says email address and we'll send you an email that will tell you when your board is shipped and give you the tracking number. If you don't supply your email addy, you can call the toll-free at 888-480-1881, or email us, and we'll get you your tracking number as soon as possible. And remember, nearly every order ships on the same or the following day.
Finally, and this is directed at you parents, (yeah, that's you guys with the credit cards). When you fill in the order form (and don't be shy about ordering lots and lots), please either put your kid's name in the Ship To part or include it in the Message section so that we can address the package to him or her. After all, part of the fun of being a kid is to get mail addressed to you, remember? Cool. Thanks.
So, if you have any questions, want to place an order by phone (wow! another choice), need directions to the shop, or simply want more information, please call us on the toll-free at 888-480-1881. Or email me at Greg@skimcity.com.
Oh, and hey! You guys want a free Skim City Sticker? Mail us a self-addressed, stamped envelope (for you little guys who ain't done that before, it means that ya write your name and address on an envelope, stick a stamp on it, fold it in half (the envelope, that is)(and no, don't seal it first), and put it inside another envelope. Then write our address on that one, put a stamp on it, seal it up, and give it to the mailman) and well flow ya one(or maybe even two) for free. Our mailing addy is:
Skim City's Return Policy
To tell you the truth, we didn't want to have an official return policy because...well, we thought just being fair was good enough. Well, imagine our surprise (and dismay) when we discovered that it ain't. So, here it is:
The Official Skim City Return Policy:
Ok. No board leaves here damaged. Each one is inspected before being boxed to be sure that there are no dings, dents, or scratches. Sometimes boards have flaws in them from the manufacturing process and these flaws are not considered damaged/defective, that's just part of the process. If, when you open the box, your board has a ding or dent here's what you do:
If your board was damaged in shipping...
If your stick is defective...
Again, we promise that when we send a board out it's in pristine mint shape (unless it's been listed as being otherwise or we've contacted you and told you otherwise). What we can't promise you is that it's not in some way the victim of a manufacturing defect. Yeah that's right, every now and then the manufacturers - despite superhuman efforts to the contrary - have a bad board slip through. Usually the problem is that the board delaminates (don't ask - if it happens to your board, you'll know). Ordinarily if you've cared for your board properly (that means you aren't too heavy for the size board you're on, you've kept it out of the sunlight/heat, haven't run over any rocks or shells, and haven't dropped it in the parking lot or done something equally careless), it should last quite a while. But if, after a too-short time, your board starts to fall apart, then there's a chance you have a problem board. Fortunately, all of the boards Skim City sells come with a limited manufacturer's warranty against such defects. If you feel you have a defective board, contact us at 888-480-1881 and we'll tell you how to get with the manufacturer to get your problem straightened out. How the problem is remedied is entirely up to the manufacturer: they may choose to replace the board, they may choose to repair it (for free or a fee), or they may choose to do nothing at all. Whatever they decide, they are the final word.
And please be aware that all of these boards wear out, can get dinged, cracked, and will even snap clean in half under the right circumstances. If your board has suffered one of these maladies, it's probably due to operator error (or simple wear and tear), not because it's defective.
Defective Products...
Every now and again, a product fails to perform the way it should. If that happens, contact us and we will be glad to contact the manufacturer for a replacement for you. Now by product failure we don't mean that, for instance, if you buy Sector Deck and can't huck huge airs with it you get your money back, we mean that if the Sector Deck falls apart 5 minutes after you put it on the board we'll work to get you a replacement. (And no, Sector Deck doesn't fall apart - it's just an example, ok?)
Refunds...
If something happens and it's our fault (like we shipped you the wrong board)(it's only happened once, well, twice; we're not perfect, ya know) then of course we'll make it right. Otherwise, we take each case on an individual basis. Usually store credits for totally unused/unopened items aren't a problem, but refunds for items that are returned just because could incur a 5% restocking fee (this because it costs us money to give you money back)(ain't that crazy?). Again, it's all on an individual basis just in case someone comes up with something we ain't thought of yet. What we can promise absolutely is that whatever the problem, we will work with you to get it resolved as quickly and fairly as possible.
BTW: Boards that go out of here new and get used (even once, even if it was just on the living room rug) are never returnable.
Finally, shipping costs are never ever ever refundable.
Other Problems...
What's an example of another problem? We don't know, but we're sure sooner or later someone will pop up with something we ain't thought of and those will have to be worked out on a individual basis, too. Our main interest is being fair: You be fair with us and we'll be fair with you. Cool?
